1. The enemy rebukes me with every insult,
And supports those I call foes.

2. The near ones distance me without respect,
While those far grow further in their remoteness.

3. People hide kindness from me though we were intimate,
And forget the favors I did them.

4. My sin, according to my brethren, is that
I guided them to righteous ways.

5. And told them, by the Book of my Lord
And the Sunna of the excellent Guide.

6. Yet people's opinion, to them, is: "Leave it alone!"
Though some opinion springs from obstinacy.

7. "Leave Zayd and 'Amr alone," they say,
"If they are not firmly on the right way."

8. Thus God's Word cures every illness,
And the Word of Taha slakes every thirst.

9. The company of Muhammad - God bless them!
Were the best of all God's servants.

10. Do not find fault with any of their nobles.
You are not qualified to criticize.

11. O my God, they have hurt me with lies
And made intolerable my anguish.

12. My eyes are tearful, slandered by their calumnies,
Prolonged my nightly prayer by their rumors.

13. They tried to extinguish my knowledge, recklessly,
And found fault with my lawful judgment.

14. If soon, my God, You give me victory,
That will be a triumph for righteousness.

15. My triumph will honor the religion,
And drive away corruption.
