1. Indeed, Muwakka has a kindness to me
Not lessened by the distance of homelands

2. Say to the son of Yaḥyá, you have had with us
Gatherings that we often recall

3. And you would bring every wandering thought
Of your poetry whose pearls you would string

4. Is this because of separation that removed it or
Pilgrims, so know by that its course

5. Woe to the mother of Ḥajjáj, you have come upon
Bringing her out to the people as witness

6. Displaying her like the emerging crescent moon
How many reasons for passion it cools
