1. They said, all people are against you
Yet you do not fear or waver

2. So I said, they cannot prevent
The world or the hereafter from me, nor benefit

3. If they injure me, they are but flies, so they
Cannot restore what they take away

4. Shall I leave truth and the path of guidance
If they shred my honor or clamor?

5. Then I would not have been, nor would there be for me
In the garden of knowledge, a place to graze

6. And ignorance would have been a comfort
From the knowledge of one who submits to falsehood
