1. I praise you, O Allah, Most Gracious
With endless praise and gratitude

2. And invoke blessings and peace forever
Upon the Hashimite Prophet Muhammad

3. And his household, the Imams of mankind
And his excellent and glorious companions

4. Thereafter, contemplating the issue of Fate
Proved extremely perplexing and confusing

5. We delved into it until we almost drowned
Then we stopped, divided into sects

6. We hoped this knotty problem would be solved
And this complex riddle would be unraveled

7. By the Imam of the nation, the vast ocean
The Mujtahid of the age, by consensus of nations

8. The chosen one of the Lord of the Throne
To rightly guide people, the most generous guide

9. Through him the religion of God became manifest
Bringing true joy and hope to people

10. Breaking the banners of heretical innovations
Making the true religion prevail and dominate

11. Following authentic traditions, paying no heed
To what the ancestors espoused, the stars of heaven

12. His religion is the Sunnah and the Book
Not what the contemporaries and partisans uphold

13. He follows the guidance that the early Muslims followed
And identifies himself with them

14. He accepts neither the label of withdrawalists
Nor the label of those who opposed Abd al-Malik

15. He is certain if the evidence is sound
And it leads conclusively to what he indicated

16. He brought us what we aspired to
Dispelling doubts and even eliminating them

17. With knowledge beyond the experts' competence
Among what he presented and made clear

18. He gave us many times what we hoped for
And refined the essence we sought

19. We praised, at that point, our secret joy
When we received all we had sought

20. When we set out towards the Creator
One day we obtained the prize through Him
