1. O you who are confused in religion, neglectful of your faith,
I see you making mistakes, hoping for answers,
١. يا أَيُّها الْمُخَلِّطُ
في دِينِهِ المفَرِّطُ
2. Seeking rewards from Him without justification.
I see you aspiring, but not repenting,
٢. إني أراكَ تَغْلَطُ
أَتَرْجُو الإجابَهْ
3. When will I see you desist?
I say this about myself, not others,
٣. وتَطْلُبُ الإثابَهْ
منه بِلا إبانَهْ
4. Before the new moon arrives.
But in grace I aspire, not in justice,
٤. إنّي أَرَاكَ تَطْمَعُ
وَلاَ أراكَ تَرْجعُ
5. So do not ask about my deeds.
٥. مَتَى أَراكَ تُقْلِعُ
أعْني بهذا نَفْسِي
٦. منْ دُونِ أنْبا جِنْسي
قبل حُلولِ الرّمْس
٧. لكِنَّني في الفَضْل
أطْمَعُ لا في العَدْلِ
٨. فَلاَ تَسَلْ عن فعْلي
