1. Say to the valley of az-Zaher, greet it with life
You have reminded us of the gardens of Eden
١. قُلْ لِوادِي الظَّهْرِ حَيَّاهُ الْحَيا
أَنْتَ قد أذكَرْتَنا جَنّاتِ عَدْنِ
2. Whoever says your beauty describes the garden of Haatim
He is mistaken in knowledge and assumption
٢. مَنْ يَقُلْ تَحْكيكَ رَوْضَةُ حاتِم
فَهُوَ مِنْ أَشْعَبَ في عِلْمٍ وظَنِّ
3. Rather, your beauty is described by Buwaan or as-Sughda
Tomorrow or Ghawtah between the two valleys
٣. إنّما يَحْكيكَ بَوَّانٌ أَوِ الصُّ
غَدُ أَوْ غُوطَةُ بَيْن الوادِيَيْنِ
