1. I make my guest laugh before he departs
Though my abode is barren and desolate
١. أُضاحك ضيفي قبل إِنزال رحله
ويخصبُ عندي والمحلُّ جديبُ
2. It is not bounty that makes a dwelling thrive
But rather the face of one noble and great
٢. وَما الخصب للأَضياف أَن يكثر القِرى
ولكنما وجه الكَريم خَصيبُ
