1. Shall I not call though you forget the intimates?
Nor soften a heart which is harsh?
١. أَلا أَذِّن فَما أَذكَرتَ ناسي
وَلا لَيَّنتَ قَلباً وَهوَ قاسِ
2. Nor the prince be busied from the high aims,
Nor from the right of his Creator by a cup?
٢. وَلا شُغِلَ الأَميرُ عَنِ المَعالي
وَلا عَن حَقِّ خالِقِهِ بِكاسِ
