1. Do you deny what I have openly declared?
The steed outstripping is no strange affair.
١. أَتُنكِرُ ما نَطَقتُ بِهِ بَديهاً
وَلَيسَ بِمُنكَرٍ سَبقُ الجَوادِ
2. The poetry nags I spur perforce to speed,
And kill, while others hunt them here and there.
٢. أُراكِضُ مُعوِصاتِ الشِعرِ قَسراً
فَأَقتُلُها وَغَيري في الطِرادِ
