1. A youth whose heart was torn by love’s separation
As sunlight was ripped apart by hands

2. He spent his tears like wine, pouring them
And in the valleys created traces for them

3. And when the pigeons drew near and trimmed
Their feathers, the loyal friend called out

4. Revealing to him while the eye rains its water
The hidden love that was not really hidden

5. Few and he clasped his palms over a hand
Adorning it with the tears’ pearls

6. I remained and attained what I hoped for
Even if you did not give me what I wanted

7. Time will water my heart with solace from beauty
So I do not spend my night sleepless

8. It is no wonder that death extinguishes my ember
And the ailment of the two worlds is my remedy

9. I concealed my love from you fearing indifference and disdain
And fortified it until the archer took aim at me

10. You faded like my yesterday’s past
And the closest thing is that you are my dwelling and resource

11. My reticence was long until I was counted
A friend free of confusion and passion

12. As if I did not carry your love or stay up
Preoccupied, provoking the rhymes

13. As if my poetry did not guess your secret
And its meanings were inspired by enduring torment

14. What has passed, has passed - I did not know the sweetness of love
Nor tasted it except by a stroke of my imagination

15. When my longing overwhelms me, it kills my shyness
And the struggles of conflict remain as they are

16. I vent to deaf rocks, mounting their backs
And unleashing my sorrows into the ear of darkness

17. I do not love the rocks, wind and gloom
But their states are like my state

18. I see the stretch of mountains with heads
Wreaking havoc, cloaked by mist as examples

19. And in the dark gloominess of the gloom of sadness
A residence that only leading hearts recognize

20. When night comes and I see my hopes fading
And the stillness of death almost overtook my heart

21. And I would not refuse death’s easy taste
If when I encountered it, it brought relief

22. I see death as the shadow of life extending beneath it
Enshrouding what is beneath it and surpassing what is above

23. Do you not see that trees extend beneath them
Shadows and the sun covers their tips

24. So if they burn one day, their shadows will turn
And death only removes the survivors

25. That is the life of the superior ones, so do not insist
On the shadow and look to its projecting light

26. So welcome death, its coolness chills
My heart and makes me forget my prolonged suffering

27. Worries die with a person and you will not see
As if time from the affliction of life was healing

28. And I am not in any way upset that
I abandon the face of the earth willingly satisfied

29. Nor was my lifetime long except that calamities
Lengthened my reign so I endured ordeals

30. The caller of fate intimidates us, so have mercy
And say the hearts of the afflicted have drunk sorrow

31. Arise and leave the lands – I am
Bound by destined fate except for my tongue

32. And say to frightening bare mountains
That you imagine are inhabited by jinn and valleys

33. Will you not release your voice and songs for me
And nourish dormant passions with remembering them

34. Was there not next to him a genius garden
That would cover the likes of them

35. And how can you convey what his hearing grasped
And gardens are only good for wandering

36. And say: O eyes of flowers, frown and bow down
A lover passed away, the sweetest eyed of the delightful

37. There used to be in the garden of mountains a friend
Watered by the tears of love, not running water

38. I made her thirsty until her twigs withered
And I twisted her with the wind of storms

39. His soul singled him out among his people
So he lived imaginally, constantly watching them

40. He was nothing but a power surrounded
By barriers of weakness - its matter is not evident

41. So he returned, unable to withstand an hour
Then how can he withstand days carrying nights?

42. He was nothing but a cloud, singled out
And thunder crackling, keening, arose within it

43. He was nothing but a wave that crashed
Against a coastline that spent the night vacant

44. Nor did death tempt him or old sorrows stir him
Rather, he awoke from the dream of this life

45. He did not die - death itself died, O rising dawn take off
And turn your splendid locks

46. He did not disappear except into his mother nature
Who lent him her affectionate ribs

47. So arise, listen in the defeat of thunder - his voice
And in the harmony of singing what he left chanting

48. And wherever the power appears to us that
Called unto him and he responded, not disobeying

49. I see your eyes reddened and I was accustomed to their tears
Stubbornly flowing in the descent of afflictions

50. This eyelid has desisted from the habit of crying
And the outpouring of tears diminished, if I was crying

51. Show pride and do not cheapen my death with tears
Stubbornly disregarding the authority of passion

52. It is the same to us - if my grave envelops me
Did you cry for us or did your heart remain tranquil?

53. It suffices me that I will meet my destiny
While you watch over my demise

54. And do not assume that I accepted willingly
But rather for a matter that mangled my wishes

55. Echoing breaths that echoed for a moment
And a throng of spirits until what came went

56. The lover lost patience and pounced upon him
Shouting frothingly, not caring for the shouter

57. So when he saw the lightning of hopes stolen
He started seeking refuge in tears that once flowed

58. He saw the danger of his flirtation and seduction
So he said: oh woe is me! I have become a betrayer

59. My repeated promises were not due to stupidity
But rather I was a disappearing man

60. To willfully kill the soul is execrable
And to leave confusion kills the confused

61. I wore eternal beauty from your poetry
And left while having dressed you in death, covering you

62. A scent from your good name perfumed me
And agony and tears perfumed you

63. You left me bare of beauty belonging to she
Who adorns - how I became and awoke clothed

64. I bite my fingers in regret of the past
But does my biting benefit me today?

65. I used to jest cruelly and maybe
Jesting became a passageway for misfortune, inviting it

66. It is miserable to feel tenderness after long separation
A fire I sense rekindling at fate

67. It will remain while what I clung unto passes
For clouds can obscure the brilliant stars

68. You are a light illuminated by
While others are shadows that will disappear

69. You are beauty that does not wear out while others
Are loans from time that reclaims what is borrowed

70. So O you taking your share of its time
Congratulations on unmatched glory

71. I will ask you for rain every time black clouds cluster
Even if I am more deserving to wet my heart
