1. I drowned in a sea of anguish and sorrow
And my hopes were shrouded in its waves

2. I descended into the valley of love seeking shelter
In death's shadow that brings closer one's fate

3. How did the sun of life darken?
And its radiance return turbid

4. The night winds blew us about
Leaving my life afterwards in ruins

5. And the tides of time surged in its chest
Flowing violently towards me

6. I pastured in an era, sick and contagious
That reaps poisons and sprouts horrors

7. O sun that keeps the nights sleepless
Why has your light turned cold and scant?

8. Darkness spreads its veils so help it
And eyes see only its black battles

9. You are but pleasures that
Were swept by the passing ages

10. To illuminate our past, but your rays
No longer burn with warmth or flames

11. The doves shed their tranquility on the darkness
As if existence itself grew weary and faded

12. A silence enveloped the world like a shroud
Filling hearts with awe and reverence

13. As if the sky was adorned
With the beautiful flowers of twinkling stars

14. The passion drew a veil over the universe
When it slept, spreading it like a gown

15. God created the most beautiful universe
Glorious, perfectly designed and unparalleled

16. He clothed the earth's face in laughing meadows
Weaving its dress and lengthening it

17. And gifted the chirping birds their nests
Among the widespread lush gardens

18. He settled the whales in the depths of oceans
And the worms in the roaming earth

19. Yet chose Adam and his progeny for misery
Granting them woes and hopes

20. O mother of this world, you are not
Like the Lord of the mistaken, Most High

21. You ask not for our prayers or fasting
Nor deny our neglect of bounties

22. The devout and the heedless are equal to you
And those who do good or evil

23. All seek refuge in your endless kindness
Blessed are you, a mother brimming with grace

24. So noble you know not passion or hate
Or greed and wickedness so base

25. Glory to Her, beyond what the fallen can feel
For your majesty has protected you from all disgrace

26. The storm of nights will rage
Shattering doubts and confusions

27. And above the ruins of religions will rise
The bow of ruin turning them to oblivion

28. And return to hearts a truth we knew
But which was lost to souls in misguidance

29. O mother of this world, do not grieve
Over the ignorance, however long
