1. Shower tears upon him, not dew,
Scatter poetry over him, not flowers,

2. Mourn him, though he is but an echo,
In the vastness of life, not the narrowness of tombs.

3. Alwahee was born at dawn,
Transcribing the night with eloquent verses.

4. Bear the coffin and cleave the winds
To the night's heart, to the grave of eternity.
