With plentiful tears like pearls threaded together?

2. Among us there was a youth unlike any other,
A protector of his mother or guardian of the forbidden.

3. A lord from whom glory is easily attained,
Yet all the firm mountains cannot match his generosity.

4. You separated her branches and were her support
On a momentous day against all formidable foes.

5. Relationships were never lost with you, by the one
Whom you protected and did not fail as a guardian.

6. As if the recalcitrant enemies became with you
On a path overflowing from the green, foaming sea.

7. You were generous, O Sakhr, for all needs,
So the scent of your kindness diffused to the delighted.

8. You are the son of your people’s lineage, O Sakhr,
If the horsemen of eloquence said Sakhr is the eldest.

9. When my soul recalls his voice and strength,
All life and bliss will regret the loss of him.
