1. I see wine as fire, and souls as gems
When drunk, it reveals the nature of gems
١. أرى الخمرَ ناراً والنُّفُوسَ جَوَاهراً
فإن شُربَت أبدَت طِبَاعَ الَجواهِرِ
2. So do not expose the soul one day by drinking
If you are not confident in its good intentions
٢. فلا تفضَحَنَّ النَّفسَ يوماً بِشُربِها
إذا لم تَثِق منها بحسنِ السرائر
