1. If there is no use in offering your face,
Then do not be denied that dishonor does not touch you.
١. إذا لم يكن في بَذلِ وَجهِكَ طَائلٌ
فلا تُحرَمن أن لا يمسَّكَ عَارُ
2. And I do consider death honorable in it,
And I spit out the sweetness of life as trivial in it.
٢. وإني لأحسُو الموتَ فيه كرامةٌ
وألفظُ حُلوَ العَيشِ فيه صَغَارُ
