١. كأنَّ الزمان فسا على الأحرار
فالآن لطَّخَهم بِسَلح جارِ
2. As if the vile's daggers had touched them
So the nobles turned their backs and fled
٢. فكأن قُولَنجَ النَّذالةِ مَسَّه
فاستَفَّ من إهليلَجِ الأدبارِ
