1. If the lights of an-Nuri were to depart from Sfax
They would never find their way to avert the feared
١. إذا ما بنو النّوري خلت من صفاقس
فلم يهتدُوا يوما إلى دفع محذُور
2. And their paths would stray from the paths of truth
Can one who travels without light be guided aright?
٢. وعن طُرُقات الحقّ ضلّت سراتُهم
وهل يهتدي للطّرق سار بلا نُوري
