5. And change your displeasure with me to pleasure,
And gain despite the proud beauties' scorn?

6. If I visited in the night of perfection, fulfilling

7. Unless the lights of a seal were adorned by one
Whose nobility in virtue and knowledge was unsurpassed,

8. A protector, to whom the eminent in lineage turn
For he is the crown of every sublime science,

9. When they boast in praising a scholar
And he is compared to the praised, the slanderer feels shame.

10. Poor in worldly wealth, rich in the Most High,
Full of piety, empty of sin.

11. Whenever a group grew lazy in serving knowledge,
He served it with dedication and resolve.

12. You see that the most stubborn problems, altogether,
Crowd his noble mind, seeking understanding,

13. If he discusses legal theory, he is a flame
Racing in comprehension with the shooting stars.

14. And he presents in scholastic theology proofs
With demonstrative, decisive argument.

15. The standards of grammar affirm his syntax,
So he became through grammatical knowledge the source of grammar.

16. And masters of rhetoric witness that he
Is the lord and master whom their lands obey.

17. Tomorrow, while he holds the scales, he is the pole. Do you not see
He has in it a refinement verified by the seal?

18. If he interprets Scripture one day, his mind
Clarifies it sincerely, dispelling confusion.

19. Tomorrow in the principles of jurisprudence, his mention
Replaces that of the experts in principle and method.

20. As for the hadith of the Chosen One, his memorization of it is sound,
He has mastered the transmission and the names.

21. The prayer of God be upon him whenever his name
Is mentioned by praisers at the start and end.
