If only I were not a poet
١. الكَلبُ وَالشاعِرُ في مَنزِلٍ
فَلَيتَ أَنّي لَم أَكُن شاعِرا
2. Is he not but one with palms outstretched
Seeking alms from all who come and go
٢. هَل هُوَ إِلّا باسِطٌ كَفَّهُ
يَستَطعِمُ الوارِدَ وَالصادِرا
