1. O kindler of fire, lighting it and extinguishing it
The winter is cold with winds and rain

2. Arise and ignite a blazing fire from my burning heart
For yearning kindles it, O kindler of fire

3. And O brother of sacrifice, thirst has long afflicted it
It knows not of the flowing from barrenness and dearth

4. Return the tear to my eye and its eyelid
To water the tear flowing copiously

5. O you determined to part, if parting is inevitable, then
Though parting is inevitable, I am not patient
