1. The radiance of Layla's body shines through her clothes
As radiance shines from a tender branch, though stout its wood
2. Why does not Layla give me ease from my flowing blood?
She knows the fire that burns has her for fuel and food
3. Go, say to Layla I have given her my flowing blood
And I have found that she, so precious, gave me no good
