1. Whoever follows our traces in our abode
Will find a forsaken lover and a heart in anguish

2. Pearls and rubies that hands coveted to grasp
Which failed, for they were destined to be scattered

3. A disheveled lover whose head inclined
To the curves, I liken him at end of night to a love-sick nightingale

4. And a permanent lover like a rope from Sura al-Qadr
Who sees the discarded stone as a well-prepared bed
