1. The guard's eye was stricken as the slanderer's mouth gaped
And the wings of the tale-bearing bird were clipped

2. His firm resolve was weakened and the mouths of the enviers twisted
Perhaps love would clear for us some favor from him

3. And heal the sickness of the bewildered, suffering lover
May every slanderer be healed by his tears

4. And may every dwelling host his longing
When the estranged one mentions him, he sheds a tear

5. And when the intimate one sees his face, he smiles
My yearning stirred you and your passion overwhelmed you

6. So you returned, wounded by separation, to the one you intended
And you spent the night shedding copious tears

7. Loving one from long ago and recently
With desire from the end and the beginning for me

8. With a beloved whose sweet talk
Struck me, so she hit the mark with amorous glances

9. Smoothly flowing, softly rustling
Her dress swaying like a bending bough

10. Revealing a gazelle-like figure
With complexion like red sandalwood

11. Smiling with mouth like a ruby
Dazzling with the radiance of her cheek

12. As if stars were borrowed for her braids
Clashing from a cloud of pearls

13. As if amber and musk were scattered on her
I would have shot arrows of love from my languorous eyelids

14. She revived in me longing and passion after
I had found peace and almost overcome love

15. Yet I credited her with the favour of love
And I said, when will you cease to love?

16. I secretly delight in the sincerity of her love
And openly show the aloofness of the coquette

17. In my heart is a passion, if she saw some of its secret
She would regret the coyness I display

18. And the proud one is deprived of the pleasure of his love
Love is refined for the humble lover

19. And I have promised her faithfulness in every situation
Unlike the treacherous hypocrite

20. Keeping the pledge of the covenant-breaking
And preserving what was entrusted to me from a neglected secret

21. My nature has returned to virtue and likewise I have become accustomed
To the habits of the noble, not the complacent blamer

22. The lineage of high-minded Omar, they are indeed
The people of nobility and merit in every gathering

23. May God establish the means of nobility through Muhammad
And the two luminaries, Nubuhan and the praised Ahmad

24. And clothe them with glorious, embroidered grace
Above the elevated plateau of splendid glory

25. Whether pleased or angry, none but the forbearing
Are seen among them wherever they are

26. From them comes the hoped-for fresh rain
It suffices them the fancy of the imagined cloud

27. And the dripping of the fresh rain from their fingers
Suffices the hopeful and gratifies the wisher

28. The offender may seek refuge in their sanctuary
And take shelter in the precincts of an unassailable refuge

29. In the Azd mountain, its fighters guarding it
With regiments of horsemen inclination towards their cubs

30. And every strong-willed warrior among you
Steadfast, resolute, no coward

31. Who is accustomed to the zeal of battle
While the horses stampede, he is no waverer

32. Dragging the stallion by the lead
Prancing lightly in the ostentatious trappings

33. As sheltering guardians for the warriors you seem
Like snarling lions inclining toward their cubs

34. O people of King Omar son of Nubuhan you
Have outstripped others with glory that speaks for itself

35. If your virtue cannot be counted
Then what is the point of prolonged praise?

36. So no generosity but you have surpassed it by your goodness
No glory but you have surpassed it by deference

37. It is incumbent to praise you
And proper for the poet's craft to represent you

38. You have remained, O people of Nubuhan, and your abode
Has become accustomed to such honor as solves every complex matter
