8. And with the meadows are delicate, plump
Gazelles, curly-tailed, marked.

9. Intoxicated eyelids, their
Mares and foals are rosy.

10. And if they smile, they show us dimples
That enchant and illuminate the darkness.

11. And the languor of eyelids broken
By the sickness of flirtation - and they have no illness.

12. How good and most fragrant it was
That life, if there was no sin!

13. When entertainment became abundant and
Its shadows stretched for reveling therein.

14. The days of youth were our most blissful times
Meeting bliss and blessings galore!

15. A spirit flows upon us in youth
Between beauty and passion holding sway

16. And the generous ladies suckling purely
Like unblemished ruby their generosity feeds.

17. The singers are trilling and the flutes
Playing, the tambourines and drums.

18. And there a good life in comfort
Where there is no sorrow or care.

19. Then that time which has passed is as though
It were - oh, would that it were - but a dream!

20. This lad - may he have after
Misguidance, guidance as prescribed.

21. For old age an outcome where
Wisdom surges and its sea rages.

22. In praising the Nobles whose merits
Transcend, parchments record each mark.

23. And the people compared to the Lofty are but
Fodder, and Muhammad ibn Ma'ammar, a body.

24. His father, Abu Umar, a paternal ancestor, and he has
Among the noble Nabahans acceptance.

25. For the Sayyid hoped for in loftiness,
His father Abu Abdillah a name.

26. The cub of the Most Generous Kings will tomorrow
With his grandsire Abu Ma'ammar ascend.

27. And of his uncles are, from his clan,
The generous wherever war or peace.

28. And of Al-Khuwailah in glory for him
Among the Bani Ziyad an immense position.

29. Those jealous of your glory thereafter
Are pebbles and grains the wind blows away.

30. Muhammad the Praiseworthy, none can
Blame his actions or disparage him.

31. Thanks and praise are to him compensation,
Ancestry is fortune, and nobility a share.

32. Generosity present in him, he who
Without it is naught but utter non-existence.

33. The kings recognized his precedence
In acts of generosity - who can rival him?

34. None surpassed him in any virtue -
In every act of nobility he has a place.

35. If any great matter befalls him
A cogitating mind and valiant thoughts arise in him.

36. In him are intuition and intelligence combined,
Judiciousness, understanding, and wisdom.

37. Forbearance, enlightenment, counsel,
Opinion, firmness, and resolve are his.

38. He is forbearing - no rage makes him
Act rashly once it is seen.

39. Forgiveness follows his anger,
Contentment overwhelms his fury.

40. To compare any honorable man to
Muhammad is utter injustice!

41. Surely, chaste women together
Are barren - none can birth his equal.

42. He brings honor to kings when he
Sojourns with them - a brilliant, shining star.

43. Abu Umar made his glory lasting,
His house cannot be torn down.

44. He protected him among lions, preventing
Any harm, raising him high as stars shine.

45. For his people in every place
There is a rope they clung to in crises.

46. The protected of his defense - whomsoever
Seeks refuge in him - are leopards, blond, and tawny.

47. Has Muhammad ibn Ma'ammar given you
Through his generosity the most lofty pyramid?
