1. Extend the good you do, augment it as a treasure
For one who wishes to repay from his wealth with gratitude

2. Just as you, O Dhuhl, are generous with good
Your praise made eloquent the poetry

3. When will the knowing ones who come to your door
Find with you the attainment, the shelter and ample reward

4. And when I saw wealth mentioned
Abu Hassan, I did well to mention your wealth

5. And I did not find, apart from wealth, a veil to protect it
So it became, when you gave generously, the veil for your honor

6. You diminished the footsteps of former times, going
To the highest rank with the greatest resolve

7. To you ended the inheritances of al-Yaman
Attained from glory, you rose high in rank

8. So you lived gloriously, atop the heights of nobility
And a gathering place, among the chieftains foremost

9. May God, O Dhuhl, make your world prosperous
Lands flourishing, lengthening your life for you

10. And you attained in your children the request and desire
So gladden your eye with them, and strengthen your arm with them
