1. If you wish to achieve rewards through success,
And sell your rhymes for profit,

2. And travel praising, asking for gifts
To one deserving of asking and praise,

3. Then visit the houses of Al Azd from Samad and Zur,
The clan of Umar, the people of generosity and pardon.

4. You will find wealth and honor if you stay
With the noble Arab, my father of the Arabs, the generous one.

5. He is the one whom, whatever state you ask him,
He shines like a sword and trembles like a spear.

6. His difficulty in generosity is like his ease,
And he ends the day having gained the heights.

7. When the goal of every need is obscured,
The means to success is made easy by his kindness.

8. And if you come to him seeking any task,
He makes it smooth like the dawn dispels the darkness.

9. He has a nature like a garden caressed by the breeze,
So its elegant flowers spread a sweet scent.

10. Indeed, the noble Arab has gathered generosity,
Unlike those who gathered money through meanness.

11. My father of the Arabs embodies perfection.
Thus all agree to prefer him in harmony.

12. Among the Azd are the forefathers of Atik and Mazin
Whose lineage saves them from slander and accusation.

13. My father of the Arabs, submit and remain in the shade of blessing,
May the balance of good incline to you smoothly.

14. In the eyes of the hostile envious are painful spears,
And their livers are diseased with swelling anger.

15. But this praise of you is sweetly savored,
And your merit is above words and explanation.
