1. I find you whenever my tortured heart awakens
To remoteness that does not cease to yearn and delight

2. Is there a grieving soul with separation, who returns?
Is there an angry one with truthfulness and estrangement, who makes amends?

3. Is it but a sigh of the heart that twines
In the sea of passion, or a teardrop of the eye that spills?

4. Deluded by the kinds of passion, clinging
To the causes of a fleeting infatuation

5. Has your roving eye that loves grown negligent?
Is your fickle heart no longer settled?

6. You spurn while being the lofty one of steadfastness at times
And complain while being the one who turns away and avoids

7. In any case, there is no pride for a lover
Who yields to the command of love or finds it difficult

8. Passion has power over patience and love
Plays with the secrets of souls and frolics

9. Did you not see it missing, pitying its heart
Burning between the ribs with agony

10. And the excess of passion hastened it without its presence
Until the absent one who migrated returns

11. O Father of the Arabs, may Allah reward you
With solace, for that which Allah has decreed cannot be avoided

12. And when the matter that, had you witnessed,
Sadness at your beautiful patience would have amazed, occurred

13. We panicked and wept for you in sorrow and tears
Yet your action in the face of tribulation was more amazing

14. Tell me, did the birds not inform you about it
Mournfully commemorating, or did the beasts not wail?

15. Did dreams revolve around you one night
With what destiny had concealed from you, O vanished one?

16. May Allah not afflict you with the intention of a separation
You deliberately pursued, though you aspired to excellence

17. You hastened the eve of parting before its time
So wondrously as if you were guilty

18. And you returned to hasten the decree
Departing on your journey which exhausts and is paved

19. You think you near a beloved and their abode
While you draw nearer to the renewed distance

20. To succeed in both directions of your journey, attaining
Reward and compensation from your Lord that is recorded

21. You came upon the Hajj which you had fulfilled
While you are rewarded for this affliction

22. And the like of you is auspicious, fortunate, blessed
Casting righteousness wherever you intend and go

23. Congratulations on the reward which you complete
With the outcome of patience, which is most warranted

24. And welcome, you saved us from tribulations
In which hearts stumble and fall

25. The visitor of generosity appeared, who has
In every region of the homeland, a shower

26. And the sky of virtue is fulfilled, its shade extending
So its clouds are not fleeting, nor its lightning fragmented

27. Your deeds are praiseworthy, your encampment righteous
Your branch auspicious, and your origin pure

28. If the morals and virtues of the generous are counted
You are the refined, gentle, well-mannered one

29. And if courage and might in battle are mentioned
You are the valiant, bold, experienced one

30. And if it is said, who is the best of kings,
Your Zanad is more piercing, or your Shahab more penetrating

31. Tomorrow time will show your good effort in the world
And prove that the best of creation are the Arabs

32. You headed to pilgrim at the Most Noble House
I attain purpose therein, and the climb

33. You visited the Messenger of Allah, the most honorable visitor
Yathrib glowed with his blessed efforts

34. You are the one who ennobled the lands and gave them weight
And you are beloved to all hearts

35. So there was no tendency for events
Nor did any goal elude your purpose

36. Excellent is the drink from the grape’s blood
When it is fermented, not scorched by flames

37. And blessed is the intimate gathering attended
By the people of wisdom and literature over wine

38. There you hear refined words
With ingenious meanings, no lies

39. For the sweetest songs are those brought to you
By the poetry of the interface, praising the Father of the Arabs

40. It causes the Lofty Father of the Arabs to soar and rise
Above the kings of the world with precedence and triumph

41. Well-mannered, his virtues mixed with generosity
As you mixed unpurified gold with pure

42. And if he boasts of being an Arab of the Azd
Whenever we attribute to him glory and lineage

43. Those chiefs are kings from Yemen
The people of influence, crowns and positions

44. The beauty of their praiseworthy traits spread
Among gatherings, through poems and speeches

45. People cannot help but acknowledge
Their merit, whether content or angry with them

46. And you, O Arab, are among the highest of Bani Umar
When we relate you as the best son of the best father

47. You remain endowed with glory and wealth for time eternal
Fulfilling wishes therein, attaining every goal
