1. Glory be to the Originator of breath
And blessed is your Lord, the Generous

2. Exalted is Allah, Mighty and Majestic
The Master of bounty and blessing

3. The Ever Living, the Eternal, without
Slumber that seized Him nor sleep

4. The Last with no end after
The First before all from the beginning

5. Source of life for the living from death
Displayer of lights from darkness

6. Who brings death to the world, then He
Revives them after decay

7. A One, Matchless King, Eternal Refuge
Counter of creation without fatigue

8. He initiated them and will repeat as
He originated them after nothingness

9. And so the babe He showed and
Raised it carried after pregnancy

10. And ordained its easy birth
When it became a fetus in the womb

11. And nourished it the breast milk raised
And fed it weaned food

12. And the wind as pollinator He sent
Stirring clouds with thunder

13. Which strike the earth growing
Greenery on plain and hill

14. Pasture and fruits measured
Provision for servants and blessing

15. Remaining pouring for us milk
Distinguished from dung and blood

16. And man says and does what
Was destined by the pen

17. Who errs is blamed and who’s granted
Success hits the mark and is not blamed

18. And sustenance is struggled for
And attained by the allotted share

19. Wondrous is man and how he’s made happy
And how he enjoys the fleeting

20. And beauty turns to ugliness
And pleasure followed by pain

21. How many a king fulfilled his days
Then built to reside but did not remain

22. Like Ozymandias, what befell him and how many
Civilizations the sands erased

23. They ruled lands, arrogant and unjust
Tyrants in wealth and tents

24. Building lofty decorated
Edifices and towering landmarks

25. Until they reached an appointed time
Seized by a lion made of sand

26. And the living of Ma’rib from Sheba
Washed away by the flood of the dam
