1. O best of those called upon
And best of those who pray for that which transpires

2. And best of those whose prayers were answered
O you who set out for God in the best setting out

3. Until the veil was lifted for him
And spoke openly to God, the Almighty

4. And honored him with discourse
And sent him as mercy to the worlds

5. He spent the evening sipping
From the chalice of meaning, not wine

6. I asked of that noble one
A glance of salvation, inwardly and outwardly

7. And a state that is approved
And worldly bounty and fortunes of the hereafter
