1. O you to whom I turn completely
And in calamities you are my helper

2. You are my remedy and the origin of my affliction
I have perfected my arts in you

3. For God, a share of the overflowing grace
I am weak, so be gentle with me

4. For God, a share of lasting generosity
I am poor, so make me prosperous

5. For God, a share of the spring of generosity
I am sick, so have mercy on me

6. For God, a share of the kindness of affection
I am far, so draw me near

7. For God, a share of the coolness of connection
I am blemished, so accept me

8. For God, a share of the ways of shielding
I am lacking, so conceal me

9. For God, a share of the beauty of your gaze
Look upon me with the eye of your mercy

10. For you are worthy of every grace
While I am not worthy, so make me worthy

11. Is there besides you any hope in which my hopes will succeed?
No, so let not my eyes perceive it

12. For every being is formed by you
And you are the origin of my being

13. And which door will my needs stand firm upon?
So listen to my yearning

14. You created weakness in me originally
Yet without my nature you reproach me

15. Every perfection is completed by you
So treat me with kindness

16. In truth I am nothing
So make me know through gnosis

17. My earnings, though they be earnings
Are from you, so correct me

18. My earnings are love of you, certainly
So my affairs are from your will

19. How excellent is your love as a station
Far be it from you that you neglect me

20. I do not endure your harshness to me
If you oppose and are harsh to me

21. For your love is the sweetest life to me
And my madness has taken roost in you

22. By God, if I wished I could speak words
At which all heroes would fall short of me

23. But my pride is in them, not in pride of self
By God, O brothers, excuse me

24. I seek forgiveness from God for my sins
And for my flaws and all my disgrace

25. And I conclude my prayer with peace
