1. Each strives according to his own purpose,
And the wise know the outcomes of affairs.

Has no rain for that which it tries.

4. So trust in God and keep to His side,
For after hardship comes ease, He has said.

5. All creatures obey His command,
In benefit or harm He ordains.

6. Think good thoughts of what you desire,
Do not reckon evil is quenched with evil.

7. Bring fire, then fire beside it
To quench them - no, they will rise in flame.

8. Be content, cling to acceptance, perhaps
One you spurn will offer excuse, so accept it.

9. A secret was placed in trust, betrayed -
Yet you blame not him, but yourself, vexed by it.
