1. Death destroys what hopes have built
The unseen is unseen, man cannot know it

2. We live and forget, not knowing the end
To God is a decree in us He will execute

3. To God belongs the affair of a man, the consequence of his deeds
And does not enter into what does not concern him

4. He shows contentment in all his states
So a generous man never rejects his beseecher

5. Whoever sticks to the door will not lack a refuge
And all that is destined for him will come to him

6. In every soul, God shows you His power
So understand the meaning of His manifestation with a discerning eye

7. By giving and withholding you recognize the wisdom of His power
Know Him through what He causes to flow in you

8. And in the changing of the heart, oh youth, lies a wonder
In the blink of an eye it angers and pleases Him

9. And how many examples bear witness, realized
So how can the ignorant deny the Creator?

10. Or deny the Resurrection, for he has no mind at all
Bringing him back when his Lord was his origin

11. If God grants success to a servant, He bears witness to him
With the light of certainty and guides him to faith

12. Do not seek the truth in what you behold
What you behold in it will suffice you

13. And he who knows himself, knowing benefits him
For the All-Compelling spreads him out and folds him up

14. Do you not see the servant in all his states
If He wills, He impoverishes him or if He wills, enriches him

15. Do you not see the servant in all his states
If He wills, He grants him bliss or if He wills, misery

16. He loves things and we cannot accomplish them
And we accomplish things against our will

17. This is proof that He
Has a Lord who decrees whatever He wills in him

18. O Lord, O Lord, none equates to You
Lord, no generosity equals Yours

19. Forgive a servant raised on Islam
Who hopes in You sincerely though his efforts fail

20. Forgive a servant created on Islam
Who calls on You truthfully though his paths are distant

21. O Hearer of words, this pearl well-strung
If few in diction, abundant in meaning

22. Then blessings upon the Chosen One from Mudar
When the clouds split with lightning glorifying Him
