1. Recite to us, O Howaydi of noble descent
A tale that speaks of the dwellers of the mountain

2. So that by remembering an infatuated lover
His distress may be relieved from the calamities of life and love

3. Recite the memory of my beloved one
O my friend, it soothes the agonies of my sorrows

4. For she is my desire and my yearning
And love for her resides in the pure white of my heart

5. My talents have flourished through her, O youth
She is both my ailment and my remedy

6. She is my wish, my death wish, I will not accept
Anyone else in this world, she is enough for me

7. Out of devotion for my beloved, her reproach came to me
Suddenly though I have no sin

8. Elevated by the glory of her servitude
Of a master, how excellent is such reproach

9. Listen my soul would be sacrificed for you, O eminent one
Along with my wealth, family and father

10. O you of glorious triumphs, magnanimity and song
O you of sublime deeds and vast dignity

11. O you who flows copiously like a lion in his assaults
O you who irrigates the thickets and canes copiously

12. O you who rose to the highest rank in the kingdom
Whose glory towers to the peaks of comets

13. Whose gifts have encompassed all the lands
Whose generosity rains like clouds of hail

14. Not Hatim, not Ja'far in his munificence
Not Haydar, not Antara in battle

15. How many impregnable fortresses you have forcefully conquered
How many distinguished heads you have severed in rage

16. And how many rivals has your army made
Vanish at your stabbing and striking

17. And how many delegations heading to your court
Whom you enriched then awed with might

18. You have united opposites, so how many dissenters
You were hostile to, destroyed by plunder

19. You are seen in every discourse as unerring
Pure, lauded as a courageous hero

20. I have not devised any tricks in my words
Nor intentionally written any lies

21. Rather, I have stated what has been said to me of her affair
By your lives, I swear and the Almighty as my witness

22. Then prayers are always repeated
Especially for the Master of the non-Arabs and Arabs
