1. O guide of sorrows do not hesitate
Roam in the valleys of curves and dunes

2. And visit the land inhabited by
Our leader, the heavy rain of fertility

3. The builder Salah al-Din, lion of battles
The smiling, determined, honorable, noble one

4. The virtuous, just, lofty, generous one
The refined, fragrant, literary one

5. From the glorious capital a branch grew
So this honorable one is from the honorable

6. Neither Hatem nor Ma'n match his generosity
When this kind-hearted one is remembered

7. Whoever seeks his kindness
Returns elated with the fullest fortune

8. He has spread generosity across all lands
In his time, to kinsman and foreigner alike

9. Good fortune made the hoopoe his confidante
Victories have been destined for him to the furthest enemy

10. The Creator has inscribed on his spear
Victory from God and an impending opening

11. May God be his Guardian and suffice as his Reckoner
His noble character ennobles his slaves

12. Through him He has declared a wondrous matter
He reproaches the least of his boys

13. Yet reproaches no one but his beloved
He says a little girl has caught him

14. With a water smile and gap-toothed mouth
He swears by the One who provides only through him

15. Agreeing in what He desires, Responder
If ordered to pluck out my eyes

16. I would hastily obey and not hesitate
For you are the origin and I belong to you

17. If you decree my soul, it would be pleasant
His nobility ennobles his subjects

18. Through him and He has declared a wondrous matter
I have written this excuse only as

19. I was told, thinking it grave news
But afterwards I saw the opposite of this

20. So now I know not what response to give
And now he has come with what you intended

21. With a pure conscience and devoted heart
Then may God's peace be upon you
