1. My friends have spurned me with their coldness
To the Creator, the Kind Lord, I voice my complaints

2. Companions who care not for kindness, nor do they
Have reason to return truth and loyalty

3. If my generosity and graceful manners
Are lost on them, then with God is my reward

4. For forty years I stood praying
Above them, so God is my comfort

5. Though my strength grows weak and my hair turns white
How long can they prod me with their sticks?

6. My ambition remains lofty
Do not fail even as my strength wanes

7. They provoked me with their softness, that scoundrel
By God, the arrows of my prayers will not miss

8. Oh Lord, those who disgraced me with insult
And rejected my kindness, smite them with affliction

9. By God, they will not mourn me with regret
And if they mention me, it will be with indifference

10. Then blessings upon the Prophet and his family
And his noble companions, those virtuous youths
