1. If you test me, my beloved
You are more knowing of me, than I

2. Whether in anger or aloofness
Or in pleasure, I care not

3. For I know that from you
Comes the most compassion and mercy

4. Yes, if you wish a thing
Your wish I submit to and obey

5. If your decree, my God
Is a matter of your power, determined

6. Then why grieve over anything
Or say, no, or if only, no

7. What remains except surrender
And submission, I submit

8. If I have sinned
Your generosity is first and before

9. Or if my sin was great
Your mercy for me is greater

10. If you divided your mercy, my Lord
Among sins when you divide

11. Your mercy would be more plentiful
Greater and more abundant

12. Whoever comes to you a true believer
You know in private

13. And from you is all bounty
You are the most generous and noble

14. It is unworthy of you to deprive him
Even if he sinned and transgressed

15. My way is to confess my sin to you
And your way is nobility

16. All good is from you
And evil from me, with blame

17. I have wronged myself with my sin
And whoever wrongs himself does greatest wrong

18. I ask your forgiveness for the end
Of my sin and what came before

19. My Lord, in you I have good expectation
For it is the best gain

20. And it is the greatest treasure
And it is the Greatest Name

21. So do not disappoint my hope
Of all virtue and gain

22. My brother, if you commit a sin
Repent to God and regret

23. Whoever remains knocking at a door
Will not be deprived of its entrance

24. It is complete, I pray protection
Upon Muhammad and send peace

25. He is last of the messengers in being sent
And in virtue, first
