1. Greetings like a meadow filled with flowers
He smiles, radiating light from his veil

2. Greetings more fragrant than musk in its scent
And more delicious than honey in the mouth of one who tastes it

3. To our master, the wise scholar Shihâb
Seeker of knowledge, jurist of our time and its ruler

4. He has the clearest methodology in following religion
And the most faithful principles in the sciences

5. Every era has a scholar to guide it
And you are, without doubt, the scholar of this time

6. If the full moon of perfection veils its light
You are for us a full moon whose perfection is complete

7. Through the school you manifest knowledge and show the way
To every scholar who frequents it as a student

8. Solving the most complex issues with expertise
Revealing through intuition hidden subtle wisdoms

9. You are the pillar of religion, rather its spirit
As long as you remain, the signs remain for people

10. A letter came to me from you, filled with virtue
In prose and verse - may God preserve its composer

11. You mentioned to us the state of our time and its people
Who constantly and forcefully fight us though we make peace

12. Every brave soul who can be expected to be devout
Is a lion the times have none who can face

13. To God I complain of what I have experienced from ill intentions
How many fields has it ravaged among us with its sharp swords

14. How many dwellings it has emptied after their delight
And quarters forgotten, their customs and traces

15. No wonder harm is its nature
But wondrous, O people, is your peace

16. We have made you a solution for every situation
Attaining the heights for those who restrain anger

17. You sought a prayer from me and that is an obligation
So I pray for the requester of prayer and its servant

18. And in conclusion we hope from God our Lord
Judgments from early times and conclusion

19. It is completed with praise to God and the best of prayers
Upon the Chosen One, the Purified, and the most Merciful of kin

20. Through him the Arabs of the world took pride over humanity
Especially through him, the son of Qusayy and Hashim
