To Salm, Abu Harb, son of Harb,
To Salam Abu Harb bin Harb
a swift mule, among the finest mules, set out in the morning.
With steeds coated in mail livery of war,
فَماfor not عَدَلَتequaled يَمينكَyour right hand مِنany (emphatic) يَمينٍright hand
فَما عَدَلَت يَمينكَ مِن يَمينٍ

وَلا عَدَلَت شِمالكَ مِن شِمالِ
For no right hand has equaled your right,
Neither to thy right is aught that is right,
nor has any left hand equaled your left.
Nor to thy left aught to equal thy might.
