فَإِن تَكُ يا عَبّادُ وُلّيتَ شُرطَةً

فَإِن تَكُ يا عَبّادُ وُلّيتَ شُرطَةً

فَبِاستِ زَمانٍ صِرتَ فيهِ تُكَلِّمُ

فَبِاستِ زَمانٍ صِرتَ فيهِ تُكَلِّمُ

So if, O ʿAbbād, you have been put in charge of the police,

O servants, if you are made police officers

then up the arse of an age in which you have come to speak!

In these difficult times, you have been given speech
