بَل لَو سَأَلتَ أَخا رَبيعَة دَغفَلاً

بَل لَو سَأَلتَ أَخا رَبيعَة دَغفَلاً

لَوَجَدتَ في شِيبانَ نِسبَةَ دَغفَلِ

لَوَجَدتَ في شِيبانَ نِسبَةَ دَغفَلِ

Rather, if you asked Daghfal, a tribesman of Rabīʿah,

you would surely find Daghfal's lineage among Shaybān.

إِنَّ الأَحابِنَ وَالَّذينَ يَلونهم

إِنَّ الأَحابِنَ وَالَّذينَ يَلونهم

شَرُّ الأَنامِ وَنسلُ عَبدٍ أَغرَلِ

شَرُّ الأَنامِ وَنسلُ عَبدٍ أَغرَلِ

Indeed, the Aḥābin and those who follow them

are the worst of mankind and the offspring of an uncircumcised slave.
