فَخَيبةَ مَن يُغيرُ عَلى غَنِي

وَباهِلَةَ بنَ أَعصُرَ وَالرِكابِ

So the vision fails him who tries to change fate

And foolish is he who joins with ibn Assur and the horsemen

وَأَدى الغُنمَ مَن أَدى قُشَيراً

وَمَن كانَت لَهُ أَسرى كِلاب

And safer is he who tends his sheep

And wiser is he for whom dogs were captives
