أَلَم أُخبِرِكُما خَبَراً أَتاني
أَبوAbu (father of) الكِساحِal-Kisah جَدَّبَهُwithered him الوَعيدُthe threat
أَبو الكِساحِ جَدَّبَهُ الوَعيدُ
Did I not tell you both of news that reached me?
Did I not bring you news that came to me
Abu al-Kisah—the threat has withered him.
From Abu Al-Kisaah, whom threats have vexed?
أَتانيreached me أَنَّهُمthat they مَزِقونَtearing apart عِرضيmy honor
أَتاني أَنَّهُم مَزِقونَ عِرضي
جِحاشُass-colts الكِرملَينِal-Kirmalayn لَهاthey have فَديدُa din
جِحاشُ الكِرملَينِ لَها فَديدُ
Word reached me that they are tearing my honor apart;
That they have torn my honor into shreds
The ass-colts of al-Kirmalayn raise a din.
The scoundrels of Karmela, for whom my blood is their ransom
