أَلا هَلَ أَتى غَوثاً وَمازِنَ أَنَّني

حَلَلتُ إِلى البيضِ الطِوالِ السَواعِدِ

حَلَلتُ إِلى البيضِ الطِوالِ السَواعِدِ

Lo, has word reached Ghawth and Mazin that I

Has the aid come, and Mazin, that I

have alighted among the fair, long-armed men,

Have arrived at the abode of long-armed women

إِلى الواحِدِ الوَهّابِ قَيسُ بنُ عاصِمِ

إِلى الواحِدِ الوَهّابِ قَيسُ بنُ عاصِمِ

لَهُ قادِحاً زِندي سِنانِ بنِ خالِدِ

لَهُ قادِحاً زِندي سِنانِ بنِ خالِدِ

with the peerless, lavish giver, Qays ibn Asim,

To the One, the Bestower, Qays son of 'Āṣim

striking sparks for him from Sinan ibn Khalid’s two fire-sticks?

For him a fire-striker, two-edged sword of Sinan son of Khalid
