وَقالواand they said عامِرٌʿĀmir سارَتmarched إِلَيكُمtoward you (plural)
وَقالوا عامِرٌ سارَت إِلَيكُم
بَأَلفٍwith a thousand أَوor بُكاًa shortfall مِنهُfrom it قَليلِsmall
بَأَلفٍ أَو بُكاً مِنهُ قَليلِ
And they said, “ʿĀmir has marched toward you
They said Amer journeyed to you
with a thousand, or a little fewer.”
