فَلا شَرِبا إِلّا بِلَزنِ مُصَرَّدٍ

فَلا شَرِبا إِلّا بِلَزنِ مُصَرَّدٍ

وَلا رَمَيا إِلّا بِأَوفَقِ ناصِلِ

وَلا رَمَيا إِلّا بِأَوفَقِ ناصِلِ

So may the two drink only a scant draught that leaves their thirst unquenched,

So drink not but from a youth-wielded goblet,

And shoot only with a broken-nocked arrow lacking its head.

Nor shoot but with a perfect, balanced arrow.
