with a glance, kohl-darkened by the last traces of enchantment,

with an eye kohled with the remnants of enchantment,

وتستطيل علينا في صبابتنا

بمائس مترف الأعطاف مطلول

and lorded it over us in our passion—

a swaying beauty, luxuriant-limbed and dewy-fresh.
