طلعةٌa countenance منfrom ضياءradiance عبدAbd (servant of) الحميدal-Hamid (the Praiseworthy)
هيit أبهىmore resplendent منthan الصباحthe morning الجديدnew
A countenance from the radiance of Abd al-Hamid,
A radiance from Abdul Hamid's splendor
More resplendent than the new morning.
It is more beautiful than the new dawn
طلعةٌa countenance منof لطائفٍdelicate charms وفنونٍand arts
خلتُهاI thought it منamong بدائعيmy wondrous creations فيin قصيديmy verse
A countenance of delicate charms and arts,
A radiance of subtleties and arts
I thought it one of my wondrous creations in my verse.
I composed it with my masterpieces in my poem
يومthe day ميلادهhis birth أغرُّradiant سعيدٌhappy
إنهindeed, he طلعةthe countenance الزمانthe age السعيدhappy
The day of his birth is radiant and happy;
On his birthday I became very happy
Indeed, he is the countenance of a happy age.
He is the radiance of the happy times
منfrom سناthe glow حسنهhis beauty ونورand the light سناهhis radiance
صدحتsang out لوعتيmy anguish بهذاwith this النشيدsong
From the glow of his beauty and the light of his radiance,
From his good looks and light of his years
My anguish sang out with this song.
My passion roared with this anthem
كدتُI almost أشكوcomplained إليهto him شوقيmy longing إليهfor him
فتعوذتُso I sought refuge بالحميدin the Praiseworthy المجيدthe Glorious
I almost complained to him of my longing for him,
I almost complained to him of my longing for him
So I sought refuge in the Praiseworthy, the Glorious.
So I sought refuge in The Glorious and The Praiseworthy
