Today it befits me to hear the melody,
Today it is good for me to hear the melody
And to spend the night in Sanaa like the boon companions,
And to spend the night in Sanaa like the regretful

بيض الأماني التي كانت لنا حُلُما
And to remain upon palms, enfolded
And to remain in comforts that embrace me
By white hopes that once were a dream for us.
The white wishes that were for us a dream

Riyadh extended toward Sanaa, to shake her hand,
The gardens stretched out to Sanaa greeting it
A palm; she generously stretched both her hands toward it.
With palms, so it stretched out its hands generously

And welcomed it with a face whose rising
Full of majesty, greeting him when he smiled.
Was great glory, greeting it when it smiled

God is Greatest! This is a wonder, a marvel
For Muslims, vexing the Romans and the non-Arabs.
For the Muslims, angering the Romans and non-Arabs

With it we the Muslim community will build a university
Through which we safeguard faith and kinship as long as we live.
To nurture it for as long as we have religion and mercy

If, among humankind, the foot of one of us should slip,
If one of us stumbles in life
We spring swiftly to him, lifting that foot.
We will quickly rise to lift up his feet

No indeed! And do the rebels among you two attain honor?
No! Does rebellion honor you?
