استصرختك لحقها قحطان

وصغت لرد جوابك الآذان

Qahtan has cried to you for help in securing her right.

And ears have listened for your reply.

فاجعل جوابهم عليهم كلمة

يثنى عليك العدل والإيمان

So make the reply you return to them a word

For which justice and faith will praise you.

المصطفى قد قال وهو الصادق

المصدوق من فخرت به عدنان

The Chosen One has indeed said—and he is truthful,

The trusted one, in whom Adnan took pride:

لا يرحم الرحمن إلا راحماً

فتراحموا يرحمكم الرحمن

The All-Merciful shows mercy only to one who shows mercy.

So show mercy to one another; the All-Merciful will show you mercy.

وأتى عن المختار كل منكم

راع وسوف تساءل الرُّعيان

And it is reported from the Chosen One: each of you

Is a shepherd, and the shepherds will be questioned.

فاحذر سهام دعائهم فرياشها

نقم مسددها هو الديان

So beware the arrows of their prayers, for their fletching

Is retribution; the one who aims them is the Judge.

وانظر لنفسك في الجواب فإنه

لا ينفعنّك ما يقول فلان

And consider your own welfare in your answer, for

What so-and-so says will surely not benefit you.

وإذا فطنت بما حوته قضية

السَّكاف تعلم أنهم قد خانوا

And if you grasp what was contained in the case

Of al-Sakaf, you will know that they have indeed betrayed.

خانوا الإله وشبعهم وإمامهم

فشقوا وعن سنن الهداية بانوا

They betrayed God, their satiety, and their imam,

So they became wretched and departed from the path of guidance.

هذا وأعظمهم لديك مكانة

ما عن لهم عند الإله مكان

Such is the case—and those highest in your esteem:

There is no place for them before God.
