ترون انهيار الشعب لا تذكرونه
وتدوىand resounds عصاthe rod of الطاغيthe tyrant ولمand have not تفتحواyou open فماa mouth
وتدوى عصا الطاغي ولم تفتحوا فما
You see the people's collapse, yet do not mention it;
You see the people's collapse, yet make no mention,
and the tyrant's rod resounds, yet you have not opened a mouth.
The tyrant's stick beats loudly, yet you do not open your mouths,
أيكفيكمُis it enough for you? قتلٌkilling وقطعٌand amputation لسارقfor a thief
أيكفيكمُ قتلٌ وقطعٌ لسارق
تعدّىhe transgressed ولولاand were it not for الظلمinjustice ماnot كانhe would have been مجرماa criminal
تعدّى ولولا الظلم ما كان مجرما
Do killing and amputation suffice you as punishment for a thief
Is it enough that a thief is killed and dismembered?
who transgressed, but would not have been a criminal were it not for injustice?
He transgressed only because of oppression, else he would not have been a criminal
